Used-car complaints where condition, timing and evidence matter
The builder keeps the vehicle's age, mileage, price, description and history in view. A fault alone does not establish breach or guarantee rejection.
Mechanical, electrical, structural, EV, hybrid and roadworthiness concerns.
Mileage, service history, accident history, specification and advertisement disputes.
Failed repairs, delay, rejection, refund, price reduction and proposed use deductions.
Trader, private sale, HP, PCP, conditional sale, Section 75 and Chargeback distinctions.
Understanding used-car complaint routes
For a trader sale, conformity can depend on description, price, age, mileage, history, condition, safety and durability. Wear and tear remains relevant; a valid MOT or warranty does not decide the statutory position.
First 30 days
Short-term rejection may be relevant to qualifying non-conformity, but a fault does not make rejection automatic.
First six months
Timing can affect the evidential position and repair or replacement route.
Failed repair
A failed or unreasonably delayed repair may make further remedies relevant; unlimited repairs are not automatically required.
Later rejection
A motor-vehicle use deduction may apply. The actual dealer calculation should be evidenced; no formula is invented here.
Private sale
Trader remedies are not applied automatically. Preserve the advert and seller representations.
HP, PCP or conditional sale
The finance provider may be relevant to vehicle quality. Commission disputes belong in the Car Finance Builder.
Card-funded purchase
Section 75 or Chargeback may also need consideration.
Safety first
Do not continue driving a vehicle reasonably believed unsafe; prioritise safe recovery and diagnosis.

Important used-car boundaries
This general builder does not replace specialist Section 75, APP fraud, Frozen Account, car-finance, investment, pension, mortgage or regulated debt routes.
Seek urgent specialist help for court papers, imminent financial harm or inaccessible essential funds where delay could materially worsen the position.
Before using your Complaint Pack
This builder organises bank-account facts, evidence and a self-service complaint pack. It does not submit complaints automatically or promise refunds, compensation or Financial Ombudsman acceptance.
Review every factual entry against statements, transaction records and correspondence before sending anything to a bank, provider or Ombudsman.
